Freetrade is one of my favourite apps that I use almost every day. It allows anyone in the UK to buy stocks, like Apple or Tesla, in just a few taps.
To be honest, I’m rubbish at investing, and for that reason, I only invest in companies that I understand and believe in long-term. These folks make investing simple and open to everyone, which is why it’s great!
When I was offered an opportunity to contribute to their marketing strategy, I said ‘yes’ without any hesitation. Their new visual identity was made by Koto, and it was a pleasure to explore their compelling and comprehensive guidelines when working on the assets.

A small selection of the banners I made (out of 30 overall), aimed to promote the Freetrade app on Google Play and App Store. Some assets featured isolated UI-elements such as stock cards, making a stronger connection with the product. The new duotone is based on the lead and main brand colours, and the art direction feels modern and positive, as I wanted to avoid traditional photo clichés.
I’ve repurposed some of the existing brand assets and made a simple animation based on these for different screen sizes.
Another assignment that I worked on was creating a leaflet that would raise brand awareness and drive user sign-ups with the free share as the incentive.
